Ir. Mohd Zahari Zakaria

Ir. Zahari graduated in 1983 from Aston University in Birmingham, United Kingdom with an honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, majoring in telecommunications.

He has over 40 years of working experience in various capacities and disciplines, mostly in telecommunication engineering, information security and project management. More than 30 years of his experience is in oil & gas industry in both operations and engineering, specializing in floating production systems.

Ir. Zahari joined ESSO Production Malaysia Inc (EPMI) in 1986 now known as EXXONMOBIL Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc. Spent more than ten (10) years in EPMI serving both the upstream and downstream sectors and in various telecommunication related capacities and assignments including information security and projects. He was also EPMI in-house training faculty member.

Ir. Zahari later has a stint as independent telecommunication engineer/consultant for oil & gas engineering consulting companies including Technip, Aker Solution & MMC Oil & Gas Engineering performing telecom engineering & design works for Shell, ExxonMobil, PETRONAS, Murphy Oil, ONGC & PTTEP.

He also involved and Cyber Security consulting and was the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC27 Malaysia Technical Committee Chairman on Information Security. He was a board member of MyCC (CCRA) certification scheme at CyberSecurity Malaysia.

He then spent 14 years in SBM Offshore where he involved in almost all telecom discipline activities globally within SBM group. He was also a mentor to new telecom engineers joining SBM. He was the lead telecom engineer for more than many FPSO projects, newly built and conversion types,both turret and spread-moored. He has involved in technical and engineering assurance, developing engineering standards and guidelines. He was the engineering method authority for SBM group.

Ir. Zahari initiated TCG Academy to share his experience and technical knowledge from both EM and SBM to benefit oil & gas engineers globally and elevating their competencies. He is a HRDC-certified and accredited trainer and has conducted many training sessions since its inception.

Dr. Effariza Hanafi

DR Effariza Hanafi received the B.Eng. in Telecommunications (First class Hons.) from the University of Adelaide,Adelaide, S.A., Australia, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2010 and 2014, respectively.

She joined Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where she is now a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering.

She is currently a Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Her main research interests include wireless communications network, Internet of Things communications technology, cognitive radio, 5G networks and beyond.

Dr Effa brings academic dimensions to the training contents in TCG Academy trainings and refreshes participants’ telecommunication fundamental knowledge in each course.

Ir. Assoc. Prof Col (R) Dato’ Ts. Dr. H. Husin Jazri

Ir Assoc. Prof Col (R) Dato’ Ts. Dr. H. Husin Jazri graduated with PhD in Computer Science (Cybersecurity) from the National Defence University of Malaysia and the alumni of the Royal Holloway University of London, University Putra Malaysia, UiTM Shah Alam, and University of Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Assoc. Prof Jazri is a cybersecurity professor at the Taylor’s University Malaysia. Prior to Taylor’s, he also a professor in cybersecurity at the University of Malaysia Computing and Engineering (UNIMY), Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) and the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST).

Prof Jazri was the founder of CyberSecurity Malaysia, co-founder and the first Co-Chair of Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), the founder and the first chair of OIC-CERT. He was the recipient of the prestigious Harold Tipton Lifetime Achievement Award by the ISC2, USA, for his contribution to cybersecurity in Malaysia and globally. He is currently the Assoc Professor in Cybersecurity, Director of the Global Alliance for Cyber Safety and Cybersecurity Lead for Impact Lab, School of Computer Science, Faculty of Technology and Innovation of Taylor’s University Malaysia.

Basri Berahim

Basri Berahim graduated with a BSc In Electronic & Physics degree from Malaysia Sabah University, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia in 2004. He has also completed an MSc in Technology Management, with a research focus on Rail Cybersecurity, at a local university.

He has 20 years of experience in Cyber Security, technologies, telecommunication and networks including training of professionals in Transport and Oil & Gas industry sectors. He has hold multiple portfolios, both technical and managerial. He has been trained in Cyber Security locally and overseas as well in Telecommunications and networking.

He is certified to ISA/IEC 62443 Expert (CFS, CRAS, CDS& CMS) and is certified to ASIS CPP Protection Professional and GIAC GICSP. He is also a Cisco Certification Network (CCNA) engineer. He is a Global Member Cyber Security Control System Association International (CS2AI), Senior Member of International Society of Automation (ISA), a member of American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS)(International and Malaysia Chapter), a member of Project Management Institute (PMI-Malaysia Chapter), and a member of The Critical Communication Association (TCCA).

Mohd Sharif Osman

Gaduated in 1982 from University of Salford in the UK with B Sc. (Hons) Electronic Communications Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer with Engineering Council UK & Eire. He is also a member of Institute of Technology (MIET), and MIEEE.

Has over 40 years of working experience as engineer in telecommunications and electronic sector.

He joined PETRONAS in Jan 1983 and retired in 2018, with last position as Principal Engineer, Telecommunication.

During his stint in PETRONAS, he has participated and involved in many PETRONAS telecommunications projects worldwide.

He designed and implemented the longest digital microwave radio link in the world between PETRONAS offshore platform and onshore location. He was also instrumental in the design and implementation of digital microwave radio links between offshore platforms.

He is inhouse faculty member in PETRONAS performing in-house training of engineers in INSTEP (Institut Teknologi Petroleum Petronas) in digital microwave radio system. He also performed assessment of performance of PETRONAS engineers for promotions and career growth.

Sharif also involved in PETRONAS offshore subsea fibre optic cable project where he involved in the design and eventual execution of theproject.

Sharif will share his experience and deploy his teaching methods that he developed in the training organized by TCG Academy.
